Nets' Jack left game vs. Celtics with leg injury

Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports

Brooklyn Nets point guard Jarrett Jack sustained a right knee sprain in the third quarter of Saturday's game against the Boston Celtics.

The team announced during the third stanza that the 32-year-old floor general would not return to the game.

As Jack gathered for a breakaway layup, his leg buckled, causing the 11-year vet to skid to a halt.

Jack was aided off the floor, as he was unable to put weight on his right leg, and was helped into a wheelchair in the arena's tunnel.

The 9-23 Nets had an 11-point lead at the time of Jack's injury, and held on to win the contest 100-97 against their Atlantic Division rivals.

After the game, Jack posted a photo of the incident on his Instagram, saying that the pain derived from the injury was the worst he'd ever felt in his life.

The Record's Andy Vasquez confirmed that Jack would have an MRI on Sunday.
