Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard returned Monday night against the Memphis Grizzlies after a seven-game absence, the team announced.

Lillard has been dealing with plantar fasciitis, and hasn't seen the court since Dec. 20.

The 25-year-old struggled in his return, collecting 17 points on just 4-of-14 shooting.

The Blazers were surprisingly productive in his absence, going 4-3 - in large part due to the improved play of C.J. McCollum. The 24-year-old has scored 25 points or more in his last four contests.

Lillard has been Portland's most effective offensive player in 2015-16, leading the team in points per game (24.6), assists per game (6.8), and player efficiency rating (21.3).

Allen Crabbe returned to his bench role with Lillard back in the starting lineup.
