Jarrett Jack to miss remainder of season with torn ACL

Brooklyn Nets point guard Jarrett Jack will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season with a torn ACL, according to Yahoo's Marc J. Spears.

Jack was forced to leave Saturday night's contest against the Boston Celtics after crumbling to the ground during a breakaway layup.

It's the first major injury for Jack since 2011-12, when the Georgia Tech alumnus missed 21 games with the New Orleans Hornets after fracturing his right foot.

The 32-year-old had started all 32 games for Brooklyn this year, averaging 12.8 points, 7.4 assists, four rebounds, and 1.1 steals.

Shane Larkin is likely to take over the starting point guard duties in his absence. The third-year guard is averaging just 6.6 points and 3.8 assists, but has been efficient in his limited playing time, shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from three.

The loss of Jack is yet another sting in the Nets' subpar season. The team sits 14th in the Eastern Conference at 10-23 and owes its first-round selection to the Celtics.
