VIDEO: J.R. Smith wants to get paid like Kyrie Irving

Ken Blaze / USA TODAY Sports

In virtually every socioeconomic setting, J.R. Smith is a very wealthy man.

Nevertheless, the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard - who received a two-year, $10-million contract in August - seems to be a tad envious of his teammate Kyrie Irving's annual earnings.

After Sunday's victory over the Philadelphia 76ers - a game in which the Cavs lead guard made his much-anticipated return from injury - Smith reacted to an innocent error made by a reporter during his postgame interview by admitting he'd like to get that "Uncle Drew" cheddar.

"I'll be Kyrie. Let me get paid like Kyrie too." - J.R. Smith

When the reporter mistakenly calls Smith by Irving's name, "The Prodigy" chuckles and says "I'll be Kyrie. Let me get paid like Kyrie, too."

Although Irving signed a five-year, $90-million deal in 2014, Smith has earned more than $40 million throughout his 11-plus years in the Association.

You'll be just fine, J.R.
