VIDEO: James Johnson cocks joint back and ... softly lays it in

Jayne Kamin-Oncea / USA TODAY Sports

On Dec. 19, 2014, a year ago almost to the day, James Johnson lit up Andre Drummond's world with a monstrous dunk. In Johnson's own words, he "cocked that joint back and banged on him."

The Toronto Raptors forward looked primed to repeat the feat on Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside on Friday night, as he drove baseline late in the fourth quarter, met Whiteside at the rim, and cocked the ball all the way back.

But Whiteside is a stalwart rim protector (he blocked five shots in the game, including one on a Bismack Biyombo dunk attempt), and it quickly became apparent to Johnson that he was not going to be able to bang on him. So he did the next best thing:

Two points is two points.
