Bucks' Monroe returns for Warriors rematch

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Milwaukee Bucks center Greg Monroe will be back in the starting lineup when his team takes on the Golden State Warriors on Friday.

A knee injury kept Monroe out of the team's last two games.

Monroe played a pivotal role in the Bucks' streak-busting victory over the Warriors last Saturday. He scored a team-high 28 points - including 11 points down the stretch to spoil the Warriors' perfect 24-0 start.

His return gives the Bucks a low-post option that head coach Jason Kidd shrewdly employed to counteract the Warriors' small-ball units. Monroe's size and strength were too much for Draymond Green to handle in the post.

Of course, there were other mitigating factors in the Bucks' unlikely win. But if Milwaukee is to pull off yet another upset, it'll need a brilliant outing from its center.
