Jabari Parker counts an unlikely animal amongst his friends: An over 100-year-old Amazon River turtle.

The Milwaukee Bucks forward revealed in an interview in the team's locker room that he had befriended Onassis, the oldest animal at the Milwaukee Zoo.

"It weighs, like, 120 pounds," Parker said earlier in December, according to On Milwaukee's Jimmy Carlton. "I help feed it bananas. And the funny thing is it's estimated to be over 100 years old - that's what they told me."

The 20-year-old Chicago native scheduled a behind-the-scenes tour of the zoo, with the help of Bucks player relations, after his first visit. While Parker saw a variety of animals, he was especially interested in the Aquatic and Reptile Center. He said he enjoys visiting the zoo because it is a "new experience" for him.

"I love animals, and growing up in the city, you always read books about them but you never had the chance to live in those environments," explained Parker.

"It's therapeutic. Animals are something I enjoy," continued Parker. "It's one of my passions. I'm just amazed at how long (Onassis) lives. I love it."
