Al Jefferson: To begin serving suspension

Jefferson will begin serving his five-game suspension Wednesday night against Orlando.

Analysis:

Jefferson had been rehabbing a calf issue, but after returning to practice earlier this week and being medically cleared to play, he'll receive an "active" designation, meaning he can begin serving the five-game ban. Assuming the Hornets keep him active for the next four games, Jefferson will be eligible to return Dec. 26 against the Grizzlies.
