Brandon Jennings: Resumes practicing with team

Jennings (Achilles) officially resumed practicing with the team earlier this week, Terry Foster of the Detroit News reports.

Analysis:

Jennings had previously been participating in some drills and other portions of practice over the last several weeks, but it now appears he's beginning to get in some full workouts with the Pistons. The team hasn't issued an outline for the point guard's return, but according to Foster, the Dec. 29 tilt with the Knicks or the Dec. 31 game against the Timberwolves might represent a realistic return date. Once he's cleared to return to duty, Jennings will assume the top backup duties behind Reggie Jackson at point guard, taking away most of the minutes that have been going to Steve Blake and Spencer Dinwiddie.
