Rockets' Ariza, Lawson will play vs. Lakers

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Rockets will get a huge boost to their lineup Saturday, as small forward Trevor Ariza and point guard Ty Lawson are set to play against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ariza missed Wednesday's game after injuring his back Tuesday versus the Brooklyn Nets.

Although Ariza's not putting up gaudy numbers, the Rockets are seven points per 100 possessions better he when plays. The 30-year-old UCLA alumnus is averaging 11.6 points and 5.4 rebounds this season.

Lawson has been a major disappointment, putting up career-lows in points per game (6.7), field-goal percentage (34 percent), and 3-point percentage (31.3). He was facing flu-like symptoms earlier today.

After a slow start, the Rockets have won six of their last eight contests. They hope to continue their hot streak against a Lakers team that sits last in the Western Conference.
