Pelicans' Anderson out vs. Wizards

New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson will not play in Friday night's matchup with the Washington Wizards due to an illness, the team announced.

This comes at a tough time for the Pelicans, as the team has gotten off to just a 5-16 start after making the playoffs in 2014-15.

Anderson has recently been linked in trade rumors, as a result of New Orleans' torrid beginning. The 6-foot-10 Californian has put up good offensive numbers thus far, averaging 18 points and shooting 38 per cent from the three.

The Wizards have also underachieved themselves, so Friday's contest will be a great opportunity for one of the two to get back on track.
