Heat's Deng will not play vs. Wizards with hamstring injury

Robert Mayer-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Heat won't have Luol Deng in the lineup for Monday's home game against the Washington Wizards, as the 30-year-old vet will miss his sixth straight outing with a hamstring injury.

Miami has gone 3-2 in his absence, most recently defeating a LeBron James-less Cleveland Cavaliers squad on Saturday.

"He's getting better," head coach Erik Spoelstra said of Deng on Monday, according to the Sun Sentinal's Ira Winderman. "He's getting stronger. He's doing more conditioning. He had a good day (Sunday) again."

Deng has averaged 10.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists on 44.7 percent shooting in 13 games for the 12-6 Heat.

Gerald Green is averaging 13.4 points and three rebounds per game since entering the starting lineup in Deng's stead.
