Clippers' Paul out vs. Magic Saturday; Redick unlikely

The Los Angeles Clippers' backcourt continues to be in flux, as head coach Doc Rivers will likely be without two key starters Saturday against the Orlando Magic.

Point guard Chris Paul will sit out, while shooting guard J.J. Redick is "unlikely" to play, Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.

Paul is battling an inflamed rib, and Rivers told reporters Thursday that his star point guard will likely miss "a couple of games." The 30-year-old has struggled by his lofty standards this season, averaging 17 points and 8.3 assists per game while battling rib and groin injuries.

Redick, on the other hand, left the Clippers' last game with an ankle sprain. Rivers said his injury wasn't serious, but his status for Saturday's game against his former team remains in doubt.

If Paul and Redick both sit out, the Clippers will have to start two of Lance Stephenson, Austin Rivers, or Jamal Crawford against the red-hot Magic, who have won five in a row.
