Ricky Rubio: Expected to return Tuesday

Timberwolves coach Sam Mitchell said after Monday's practice session that Rubio (ankle) should play Tuesday against the Magic, Kent Youngblood of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Rubio, who missed the Wolves' last two games with soreness in his left ankle, was able to participate fully in Monday's session, and looks to be ready to reclaim his starting point guard role. The Timberwolves should formally clarify whether or not Rubio will be available following pregame warmups, but as of now, it looks like Zach LaVine, who has performed well in his starting opportunities in place of Rubio this season, will head back to a reserve role.
