LeBron James Jr. is trying to avoid his famous father's shadow.

LeBron Sr. revealed in an interview with Sports Illustrated's Lee Jenkins that his 11-year-old son, who is already garnering attention from colleges with his work in the AAU circuit, wears 0 during games, same as James' Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Kevin Love.

"He doesn't want people to know who he is," explained James. "He hates when they ask him for pictures and autographs. He won't even wear my number."

While it will be hard for his son to shake off his famous name, James is hoping that raising his children in Northeast Ohio will shelter them the way it did him while he was growing up.

"There is a comfort and a shadow and a protection here," he said. "This city protects me and my family. I can't explain it, but when I was a kid and I'd walk the streets or be out late or play on outdoor courts, I felt like people were watching me and thinking, Let's protect him. I could feel that. I still feel it."
