Warriors' Barnes to miss at least 3 games with left ankle sprain

Harrison Barnes will not be in uniform for the undefeated Golden State Warriors for at least the next three games, starting with Monday night's matchup against the Utah Jazz.

The forward will remain on the sidelines after leaving Friday's win over the Phoenix Suns during the third quarter with a sprained left ankle.

"We're not going to rush him back because we want to be healthy for later in the season and we don't want lingering injures, so we'll have him take his time," interim head coach Luke Walton said following the victory, according to ESPN's Ethan Strauss.

Barnes also missed Saturday's 19-point win over the Sacramento Kings after X-rays on his ankle came back negative, revealing no broken bones.

In his fourth season with the franchise, the North Carolina alumnus is averaging career highs in points (13.4), field-goal percentage (50), and minutes per game (30.1).

His absence will mean an uptick in minutes for 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala, as well as seldom used Brandon Rush, who scored 16 points on 4-of-5 shooting from behind the arc Saturday in the starting lineup.
