Anthony Davis in lineup vs. Jazz despite knee injury

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Pelicans will get an unexpected boost to their lineup heading into Saturday night's contest in Salt Lake City.

Anthony Davis is set to play against the Utah Jazz.

The Pelicans power forward sustained a knee injury in Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, leaving the game in the third quarter after colliding with Clippers point guard Chris Paul.

The two-time All-Star is having another tremendous season with New Orleans thus far, averaging 23 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game, and even adding a 3-point shot to his already lethal arsenal.

Injuries continue to plague Davis, though, as he already missed time earlier this season with a hurt shoulder.

After reaching the postseason last year, the Pelicans are off to a poor start, beginning with just a 4-12 record. New Orleans has yet to win a game in 2015-16 with Davis out of the lineup, so the team and its supporters will be happy that he'll play Saturday evening.
