Suns sign Bryce Cotton

The Phoenix Suns have signed free-agent point guard and Arizona native Bryce Cotton, the team announced Wednesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

After going undrafted in 2014, the 6-foot-1 Providence product got his first taste of the NBA last season, averaging 5.3 points, 1.2 rebounds, and an assist in a 15-game stint with the Utah Jazz.

Those numbers don't really tell the whole story, though, as Cotton - whose 45-inch vertical topped any measurement ever recorded on the Draft Express database - also lit up his share of highlight reels during his cup of coffee with the Jazz.

Uuuuuhhh... Bryce Cotton...

The Suns had an extra roster spot to fill, and, perhaps due to some recent knee troubles for starting point guard Eric Bledsoe, they opted to bolster their depth at the position.

In four games with the D-League's Austin Spurs this season, Cotton has averaged 22.3 points, 4.8 assists, and 1.5 steals, shooting 58.7 percent from the field and a ludicrous 63.6 percent from 3-point range. He made the All-NBA D-League second team last year.
