Gerald Green practiced with the starters in Luol Deng's absence, and could start Wednesday's game in his place, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Green practiced with the starters at Wednesday's morning shootaround and is expected to enter the lineup at small forward later in the evening against the Pistons, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Analysis:

With Luol Deng (hamstring) on track to miss Wednesday's game, it looks like Green will be called upon for his first start of the season. Green has had an eventful season off the court thus far, but he's been a regular member of the Heat's rotation over the last four games, seeing between 12 and 23 minutes. With Deng out of the picture Wednesday, Green's playing time should hover closer to the 20-to-25-minute range, though sixth man Justise Winslow is the likelier candidate to assume most of Deng's minutes.
