Mo Williams out again as Cavs host Magic

Ken Blaze / USA TODAY Sports

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Mo Williams will miss his third straight game with an ankle injury Monday when the Cavs host the Orlando Magic.

Williams underwent an MRI on Friday, which revealed posterior right ankle inflammation. The Cavs rebounded from back-to-back losses last week with two straight wins, but are suddenly banged up in the backcourt. Williams' presumed replacement, Matthew Dellavedova, could be limited with a left leg issue. Beyond that, the Cavs would need to look to Jared Cunningham at the point.

Kyrie Irving remains out with a somewhat conservative timetable for his return from a fractured kneecap.

Williams is having a Cavaliers renaissance; in his return to Cleveland this season, the 13-year veteran is averaging 15.5 points and 5.3 assists per game.
