Report: Kevin Durant expected to return to Thunder this week

Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

The return of six-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant to the Oklahoma City Thunder's lineup is imminent.

The 27-year-old scoring phenom is expected to return to action at some point this week, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Durant has missed the Thunder's last six games with a strained left hamstring which he suffered against the Washington Wizards on Nov. 10. The team has gone 3-3 in his absence, with teammate Russell Westbrook averaging 32.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 9.3 assists during that span.

It's believed that Durant will be on the floor for either Monday's road game against the Utah Jazz, or two night's later when the Thunder returns home to take on the Brooklyn Nets at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The four-time league scoring champion suited up for just 27 games last season after undergoing three surgeries on his foot.

He's currently averaging 28.1 points per game on 50.3 percent shooting, along with 7.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in eight appearances to begin the season.
