Derrick Rose eyeing return Tuesday vs. Trail Blazers

After missing the Chicago Bulls' last two games with a sprained left ankle, point guard Derrick Rose can see himself returning to the lineup Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

"I feel good," Rose said after Sunday's practice, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell. "My body was a little fatigued from just running around or just sitting down for a little time.

"Being able to run around today, and I had a great workout (Saturday) and I had another workout today after we got done practicing so I'm heading in the right direction ... that's what I'm aiming for, Tuesday, for sure."

Rose suffered the injury Monday night against the Indiana Pacers after he rolled his ankle on a baseline drive against Monta Ellis.

Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg is optimistic Rose will be healthy enough to compete when his team visits the Moda Center.

"He looked good," Hoiberg said. "He looked good. The good thing is he's been able to shoot even when he's had the ankle injury. Yeah, so hopefully we'll have him out there again on Tuesday."

Missing time is nothing new to the 27-year-old, who sat 103 games over the past two seasons with a litany of leg and knee injuries, after being sidelined for the entire 2012-13 campaign to recover from a torn ACL.

The All-Star is averaging 13.6 points and six assists on 37.7 percent shooting in 10 games for the 8-4 Bulls - the lowest numbers of his seven-year career.
