Zach Randolph out again vs. Spurs

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Grizzlies will be without the services of power forward Zach Randolph when they face the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, as he continues to deal with knee soreness.

Grizzlies head coach Dave Joerger confirmed Randolph's status shortly before tip-off.

The 34-year-old Randolph sat out Friday's game against the Houston Rockets. His absence was mitigated by Marc Gasol, who stepped up with a triple-double to lead the Grizzlies to their fourth straight win.

Randolph has been excellent as usual in his 14th season. He remains a bruising presence in the post and is averaging 14.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.

Joerger tabbed rookie JaMychal Green to start in Randolph's place for the second consecutive game. He had five points and five rebounds in 23 minutes on Friday.
