Babbitt has been working primarily as a stretch power forward in training camp, The Oregonian reports.

Babbitt, who was utilized as a small forward during his first two seasons, hit 43 percent (43-of-100) from three-point range last season, appearing in just 40 contests. After Saturday's practice, coach Terry Stotts stated, "I think that's an aspect of the NBA game, having the ability to have a four man that can stretch the floor, not only to make shots, but it makes penetration for our guards better, it makes post-ups better. There's just more space on the floor." While Babbitt will find it difficult to see the floor much due to his deep reserve status, the upgraded role would better utilize his offensive skill set, if in fact he is able to defend fours in spite of his shortcomings on defense.
