Kings' Gay will not play vs. Magic with left shoulder strain

Jennifer Stewart-USA TODAY Sports

Originally listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Orlando Magic, Sacramento Kings forward Rudy Gay has now been officially ruled out, according to the Sacramento Bee's Jason Jones.

Gay, 29, suffered a left shoulder strain against the Miami Heat on Thursday that forced him to leave the game during the third quarter.

This is the second game Gay has missed to begin the season. He didn't suit up for Sacramento's win over the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 13 due to gastroenteritis.

Gay is averaging 17.4 points on 44.3 percent shooting, along with 6.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists, for the 4-9 Kings.

Head coach George Karl will start Willie Cauley-Stein at power forward while Darren Collison slides into the starting unit in a two-point guard look with Rajon Rondo.
