LaMarcus Aldridge returns after tweaking ankle

San Antonio Spurs power forward LaMarcus Aldridge exited Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans after sustaining an ankle injury.

Head coach Gregg Popovich told the TNT broadcast Aldridge's return is probable, and true to form, his star forward checked into the game early in the second quarter.

Aldridge tried to score around Anthony Davis in the post, but landed awkwardly after tossing up an errant hook shot. Aldridge was slow to trail the play, but managed to snag the rebound before subbing out at the next whistle.

The four-time All-Star has gotten off to a slow start since changing teams this summer. He's looked thoroughly awkward in adapting to the Spurs' motion offense as he's averaging 14.8 points, 9.8 points, and 1.8 assists while shooting just 42.8 percent from the field.
