Markieff Morris out vs. Nuggets with strained knee

Jennifer Stewart-USA TODAY Sports / reuters

The Phoenix Suns will be without struggling power forward Markieff Morris when they take on the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.

Morris picked up his injury during the Suns' blowout win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. Backup forward Mirza Teletovic mopped up most of the minutes at power forward in Morris' absence, while P.J. Tucker also saw time as a small-ball four.

Head coach Jeff Hornacek, however, will tab Jon Leuer for the start.

The 26-year-old Morris is off to a slow start to his fourth season in Phoenix. He's shooting 36.8 percent from the field and just 29.2 percent from deep despite using 27.9 percent of the team's possessions while he's on the court.
