The Dallas Mavericks will rest a trio of starters for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

Dirk Nowitzki, Wesley Matthews, and Chandler Parsons will all sit out the "Texas tango" with their intrastate rival, with Saturday's clash being the team's fourth game in five nights.

The 37-year-old Nowitzki has been cruising as of late, averaging 17.8 points on a staggering 50 percent from beyond the arc with 7.2 boards to boot.

Matthews and Parsons are both on the long road back from injury, with the latter being a bit further behind his fellow wing.

Matthews - who started the season on a minutes restriction due to Achilles surgery - has logged more than 30 minutes in each of his last two games.

The 29-year-old shooting guard is rounding into form, averaging 10.5 points on 39.5 percent shooting from 3-point territory.

Parsons, who has missed three of the Mavs' nine games to date and has also been on a minutes restriction, has been kept to 15 minutes of floor time, contributing 5.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists.

The 5-4 Mavs have split their last four games, with their most recent victory coming against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. The undermanned Rockets - off to a disappointing 4-5 start - will look to pull even with Dallas with a win Saturday.
