Clippers' Paul doubtful, Redick out vs. Pistons

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers might be without their starting backcourt yet again when they host the Detroit Pistons.

As the OC County Register's Dan Woike relays, the team is listing Chris Paul as doubtful, while J.J. Redick is out for Saturday's game.

Paul is battling a groin strain since last week's game against the Golden State Warriors. Paul has since been in and out of the lineup, and he sat out Thursday's blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Redick is dealing with back spasms that cropped up during Wednesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. Redick did not return to that match and he also sat out Thursday's game.

The Clippers have lost four of their last five contests after starting the season 4-0. Injuries, a tougher schedule, and continued under-performance from their bench are to blame for their recent slide.

Head coach Doc Rivers started Austin Rivers and Pablo Prigioni with Paul and Redick absent on Thursday.
