Rockets' Jones returns vs. Nets

Thomas B. Shea / USA TODAY Sports

Houston Rockets forward Terrence Jones returned to the lineup in a 106-98 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-9 fourth-year man had missed all but two games coming in due to a cut above his right eye - an injury sustained against the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 30.

The Rockets' front line has been decimated by injuries during the early stages of the 2015-16 campaign. Jones, Dwight Howard, and Donatas Motiejunas have all missed time, forcing backup big Clint Capela to play extended minutes. 6-foot-4 shooting guard Marcus Thornton assumed starting power forward duties Wednesday.

The 28-year-old journeyman came in averaging 16.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals, while shooting a whopping 40.5 percent from beyond the arc.
