Wizards' Beal out vs. Thunder with injured left shoulder

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Wizards will be without the services of leading scorer Bradley Beal on Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as he sits with an injured left shoulder.

Beal suffered the injury Saturday night in a 114-99 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena. The team described it as a shoulder contusion, with the hope being that Beal would be healthy enough to compete against Kevin Durant and the Thunder.

Through the first six games of the season, the Florida alumnus is averaging 22.7 points on 48.6 percent shooting, along with 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Gary Neal will be inserted into the starting lineup in Beal's place.
