Cuban says he'll release texts from DeAndre Jordan 'some day'

Wednesday marks the Los Angeles Clippers' - and DeAndre Jordan's - first visit to Dallas to play the Mavericks since last summer's free-agency fiasco.

While ESPN runs TV promos for the game set to Phil Collins' "Against All Odds," Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is still smarting from Jordan's Texas two-step; specifically how, after verbally committing to Dallas, the prized free-agent center continued talking to Cuban and Mavs forward Chandler Parsons via text message right up until signing day.

Then, holed up in his Houston home with a cadre of Clipper teammates, Jordan went radio silent.

"Some day I'll let you read all the texts and we'll get into it and we'll talk about it," Cuban said, according to the Los Angeles Times' Ben Bolch. "But now is not the right time."

The billionaire owner added that Jordan's final text to him came at 11:56 p.m. on July 7 - less than 24 hours before all hell broke loose on the day that the moratorium was lifted and players could sign contracts. He said Jordan told him he was on a date - which, in reality, was apparently dinner with Blake Griffin.

Wednesday's game is sure to be a raucous affair in Dallas, but Cuban said game ops wouldn't get too silly.
