Lowry leads Raptors to first 4-0 start in franchise history

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

As Anthony Davis, Gordon Hayward, and Andrew Wiggins will probably tell you, it's still early in the NBA season. Yet that fact doesn't eradicate the Toronto Raptors hot start that saw them go 4-0 for the first time in franchise history Tuesday with a 102-91 road victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Kyle Lowry led the way with 27 points and 10 assists, both season highs, to go with five rebounds and three steals. DeMar DeRozan added 20 points, and Luis Scola picked up the slack from a struggling DeMarre Carroll, posting his first double-double as a Raptor with 19 points and 12 boards.

With the win, the Raptors join the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers as the only undefeated teams left in the NBA. Tuesday's victory came on the 20th anniversary of the franchise's first game, a 94-79 win over the New Jersey Nets on Nov. 3, 1995.

The Raptors face the Oklahoma City Thunder on night two of the back-to-back Wednesday.
