J.R. Smith (knee) has a right knee bruise and quad tendinitis, and will miss the Cavs next to games, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports.

Smith has been diagnosed with a right knee bruise and quad tendinitis, and will miss the Cavs' next two games, set for Wednesday versus the Knicks and Friday versus the 76ers. Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. He's also listed as doubtful for the following game Sunday versus the Pacers.

Analysis:

Though it initially seemed that Smith's injury wasn't too serious when he was removed from Monday's game against the Sixers, the Cavs are going to play it safe and give him a break for likely the next three contests. With Iman Shumpert (wrist) and Kyrie Irving (knee) both out as well, Matthew Dellavadova would appear to be the top candidate to start at shooting guard in Smith's absence, though Richard Jefferson could also factor into the mix if the Cavs elect to go bigger.
