Holiday, who was held out of Tuesday's season-opening loss to the Warriors for rest purposes, is expected to play Wednesday in Portland.

Analysis:

Holiday has endured no setbacks since undergoing surgery to remove a screw from the rod in his right leg back in May, but because of the myriad lower-body issues he's experienced during his time in New Orleans, the Pelicans are exercising more caution with their point guard's usage this season. He's set to sit for at least one game of back-to-back sets through January, and will also face a playing-time restriction of around 20 minutes per game until that time. As a result, it will be difficult to wring much value out of him in season-long and daily formats through the first two-plus months of the season. Even with Holiday presumably returning Wednesday, look for Nate Robinson and Ish Smith to see plenty of action off the bench.
