Taj Gibson: Scores 16 Friday

Gibson scored 16 points (7-9 FG, 2-2 FT) to go along with six rebounds, three assists and three blocks in 23 minutes Friday against the Mavericks.

Analysis:

Gibson was sharp Friday and actually played more minutes than both starters Pau Gasol (22) and Nikola Mirotic (19). It appears Joakim Noah will be coming off of the bench with Gibson to start the season, which might be a good thing for Gibson since the two play so well together and Noah will defer to him offensively. Gibson is not an elite fantasy option by any means, but his ability to rebound and block shots does leave him with value.
