Williams was expected to miss the entire preseason, but apparently the organization had a change of thought, as he's now in contention for playing time after practicing fully Thursday. Regardless of whether or not he plays Friday, Williams is on tap to start in Dallas this season, and will look for a resurgence after a lackluster three years in Brooklyn. During his time with the Nets, Williams never managed to average at least eight assists per game after attaining that benchmark five straight years while in Utah.
