PHOTOS: Rockets' Howard takes in Colts-Texans Thursday Night Football matchup

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Texans will have a little extra support for their Thursday Night Football duel with the Indianapolis Colts in the form of Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard.

The eight-time NBA All-Star is in the house at NRG Stadium for the big AFC South matchup, along with Rockets rookie Sam Dekker.

"Superman" even took some time out to selfie it up with some die-hard Texans fans, although it looks like one man wasn't interested in taking part in the photo session:

Texans head coach Bill O'Brien probably wishes he could have Howard suit up on the defensive line to help stop the Colts rushing attack with star defensive end J.J. Watt. Houston ranks 22nd in the NFL for yards allowed on the ground per game at 115.3. Perhaps a 6-foot-11, 275-pound giant would help in that department.

Too bad the 29-year-old is busy working the mic for Houston media.
