Cliff Alexander:

Alexander will be out for a "couple of weeks" with a bone bruise head coach Terry Stotts said Saturday, Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports.

Analysis:

Alexander underwent an MRI on Friday revealing an aliment in his left knee. The undrafted, once top-5 recruit in the class of 2014 is looking to find a spot on the Blazers roster after having a disappointing freshman season at Kansas. Alexander averaged 7.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 0.3 assists, and 0.1 steals in 23 minutes per game through 11 summer league games with the Nets, which was enough for the Blazers to offer him a contract. He has reportedly played well thus far in training camp and very well could find his way on to a dismantled Portland team in need of some frontcourt depth after losing LaMarcus Aldridge, Robin Lopez, and Joel Freeland this offseason.
