Porter had his 2016-17 contract option exercised by the Wizards earlier this week, Real GM reports.

Analysis:

Unsurprisingly, the Wizards will retain Porter for a fourth year, after he was able to take a modest step forward for the team in 2014-15, his second season in the league. The Georgetown product was able to claim a meaningful spot in coach Randy Wittman's rotation, averaging six points on 45 percent shooting over 19.4 minutes per game. He's in line to start at small forward for the Wizards this season, while likely noticing an uptick in his court time.
