Young said he has added 20 pounds of muscle to his 6-foot-7 frame since being drafted by the Celtics last June, A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com reports.

Analysis:

Young got off to a rough start to his rookie season, as a car accident weeks before the 2014 NBA Draft resulted him sitting for the entire summer league and missing out on valuable development time. The swingman never seemed to recover from that setback, as he made just 31 appearances on the season for the Celtics while averaging only 10.7 minutes per game. The 20-year-old was never expected to carve out a major role in his first NBA season, but after using the rookie year as a growing experience, he should be able to contribute more in 2015-16. The Celtics will turn to Young for some sharpshooting off the bench initially, and if he excels in that capacity, he could challenge the likes of Avery Bradley, Evan Turner, and Jae Crowder for more minutes at either wing spot.
