Robin Lopez on downside being a Knick: 'Gonna have to see my brother more'

Depending on who you ask, there's a lot to look forward to in Gotham this season.

Carmelo Anthony thinks his championship window is open with the New York Knicks, as the team added both veteran and rookie reinforcements. One of those additions is optimistic his defensive work ethic can help set the tone and that the increased presence of president Phil Jackson is a good thing.

Unfortunately for that player, signing with the Knicks this offseason also comes with a serious drawback: Robin Lopez is now too close to brother Brook Lopez, who plays for the Brooklyn Nets.

"The only downside of coming here is that I'm gonna have to see my brother more," Robin said at media day Monday.

This is hardly the first salvo in the war of words between the 7-foot twins.

Robin recently called Brook a "Muggle" and shot down the idea of living together in the city. This, after Brook had called Robin the literal Robin to his Batman and suggested Robin can stay at Brook's place in "a little cupboard under the stairs a la Harry Potter." The feud extends beyond their arrival in the same city, with a serious sound-bite battle having taken place last season, too.

This season's first battle of the boroughs - which will pit the Lopez brothers head-to-head at center - will take place on Dec. 4.
