Report: Grizzlies agree to deal with Ryan Hollins

Averaging 3.4 points in the Pan Am Games can get a guy noticed.

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a deal with free-agent center Ryan Hollins, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.

Terms of the deal were not immediately available, but the Grizzlies already have 14 guaranteed contracts. If Hollins is on a camp deal, he'll be competing with at least four others for the team's final roster spot, one it may not even use - Memphis was one of three teams to enter 2014-15 with only 14 players on the roster.

The 7-foot Hollins spent last season with the Sacramento Kings, averaging three points and 2.2 rebounds in 46 games. Enticed by his ability to protect the rim and finish at the other end, Memphis is the eighth team to give the 30-year-old a chance.

Production hasn't come from those skills, with Hollins averaging 3.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks in 11.8 minutes over 481 games. With little semblance of an offensive game beyond dunks, and poor rebounding numbers for his size, Hollins has never been able to carve out more than a small reserve role.
