VIDEO: Pau Gasol dominant as Spain ends Poland's EuroBasket run
Pau Gasol put his team - and his country - on his back Saturday.
The 35-year-old Spaniard torched the Polish national team for 30 points, and led his squad to a 80-66 victory in their 2015 EuroBasket Round of 16 match.
The Chicago Bulls big man was met with little resistance on the floor, as Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat and his fellow countrymen could not contain the red-hot Gasol.
What was most impressive about Gasol's offensive onslaught was the way in which he did so - 18 of his 30 points came from beyond the arc (86% on 6-for-7 shooting).
With this result in the books, Poland goes home while Spain continues on in their path to 2016 Olympics qualification.
Spain will face Greece - a team that features NBA players Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kosta Koufos - in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
