VIDEO: Danilo Gallinari continues hot EuroBasket, lifts Italy over Germany in OT

So, about that reported two-year, $34-million extension the Denver Nuggets signed Danilo Gallinari to: The Nuggets probably feel pretty good about it right now.

After struggling to return to form following a knee injury that cost him the entire 2013-14 season, Gallinari looks decidedly back to form. Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly boldly claimed this week that Gallinari was "not just back, but he's better than ever," and the Italian small forward has done everything he can to prove as much at EuroBasket 2015.

Gallinari scored a team-high 25 points Wednesday in an 89-82 Italy victory against Germany, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing two assists in the process.

The win pushes a very happy Italian team to 3-1 in group play, putting them in a good position with one game to go before the Round of 16. From there, two teams will qualify for the 2016 Olympics, while four more earn a berth in the 2016 Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Through four games, Gallinari is averaging 22.8 points, eight rebounds, and 2.8 assists, shooting 62.2 percent from the floor and 5-of-13 from long range. He's also lived at the free-throw line, hitting 40-of-44 and trails only Spain's Pau Gasol in tournament scoring.

In 59 games last season, the 27-year-old Gallinari averaged 12.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while shooting 40.1 percent. The overall numbers undersell a trend that may have portended his strong EuroBasket showing - Gallinari averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists on 44.3-percent shooting after the All-Star break.
