Ah, the good ol' days.

It was back in 2009 when the Toronto Raptors drafted shooting guard DeMar DeRozan out of the University of Southern California with the No. 9 overall pick. That also happened to be the only season he played alongside Chris Bosh, who was dealt to the Miami Heat in a sign-and-trade deal one year later.

The two recently bumped into each other at the gym, with Bosh commemorating the moment on Instagram with some kindhearted words for the man he once had under his wing.

CAPTION: Me and the young homie @demar_derozan. Time is flying! He was my rook back in my Toronto days. He has always been a very hard worker so it's no surprise when I saw him in the gym. That hard work has gotten him to be an All-Star in the league! Proud of this dude! #timeflies #hardwork

"He was tough on me from the standpoint, I think he knew how good I could be," DeRozan told Basketball Insiders back in 2014. "I was the starting guard with him, (Hedo) Turkoglu, (Andrea) Bargnani, Jose Calderon. I was the only rookie out there. A lot of mistakes I made, he would just be hard on me about it so I could be better. He was a good dude. He's a good friend of mine."

Since Bosh's departure, DeRozan has taken it upon himself to be the new face of the franchise, helping the Raptors qualify for the playoffs the past two seasons. Bosh has since captured two NBA championships in South Beach.
