Peja Stojakovic will join the Sacramento Kings front office as its new director of player personnel and development, the team announced Monday.

His role will include monitoring and evaluating talent pools overseas, as well as assisting the team's general manager with scouting.

Stojakovic will also become the new general manager of Sacramento's D-League affiliate, the Reno Bighorns.

ESPN's Marc Stein reported last month that the franchise had offered the former 3-point marksman a full-time position, with Kings vice president of basketball operations Vlade Divac asking him to move back to the United States to work alongside him.

Stojakovic was selected 14th overall by Sacramento in the 1996 NBA Draft, spending seven full seasons with the team before being traded to the Indiana Pacers in 2005-06.

The Kings retired his No. 16 during a ceremony at Sleep Train Arena in 2014, honoring his 13-year run in the league.

He was a three-time All-Star, including a champion in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks. In 804 career games, Stojakovic averaged 17 points on 45 percent shooting from the field and 40.1 percent from 3-point range.
