JaVale McGee: Signs Two-Year Deal With Mavericks

McGee signed with the Mavericks to a two-year deal on Thursday, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

The deal is for the minimum, while the second year contains a team option. McGee split last season between both the Nuggets and the Sixers. He played in a combined 23 games, finishing with averages of 4.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.9 blocks over 11 minutes per game. The seventh-year pro should offer the Mavericks insurance at the center position, battling with Samuel Dalembert for minutes as the backup to Zaza Pachulia. Unless he can earn relevant minutes in the rotation during training camp, McGee will likely remain very limited in his potential fantasy impact.
