Report: Nets to waive forward Earl Clark

The Brooklyn Nets will waive forward Earl Clark, reports Real GM's Shams Charania.

After his release is complete, Clark will become an unrestricted free agent, allowing him to sign with any team that desires his services.

While the Nets will save about $200,000 by waiving Clark before his October 26 deadline, the move will benefit Clark as well - he reportedly wanted the team to waive him so he could move on or play overseas.

In April, he signed a multi-year deal with the Nets. However, 2015-16 was a non-guaranteed year, putting pressure on the 27-year-old to perform at a high level at this year's training camp in order to earn a spot on the team once again.

Clark bounced around the D-League last fall, and then landed a contract with the Shandong Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association in December.

In 19 games for the Lions, the 6-foot-10 New Jersey native averaged 26.7 points and 10.3 rebounds.

The Phoenix Suns selected Clark with the No. 14 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.
