Former NBA 3-point specialist Peja Stojakovic has been offered a full-time position to join the Sacramento Kings' front office, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Vlade Divac, the team's vice president of basketball and franchise operations, reportedly asked Stojakovic to return to the United States and work alongside him in a player personnel role, although a "firm decision" may not come until September.

Stojakovic, 38, retired from the NBA in December 2011 following a successful 13-year run. He has been working as a consultant for the franchise this summer, and was seen sitting with Divac - who he played with on the Kings and the Serbian national team - during summer league games.

Stojakovic played his first seven-and-a-half seasons in the league with Sacramento after being selected 14th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft, helping the Kings qualify for the postseason every year he competed.

The Serbian sharpshooter bounced around from team to team after being traded in 2006, suiting up for the Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans), and Toronto Raptors before finishing his career with the Dallas Mavericks. It was in Dallas in 2011 that Stojakovic won his only championship.

His best years as an active competitor came as a King, with the franchise honoring him for his efforts during a ceremony in 2014, raising his No. 16 to the rafters at Sleep Train Arena.

In 804 games, Stojakovic averaged 17 points and 4.7 rebounds, shooting 45 percent from the field and 40.1 percent from behind the arc. He currently ranks 10th all time in 3-pointers made (1,760), and 33rd in 3-point percentage.
